Adult March Break

Even though you may no longer be a student, you deserve a March Break! And what could be better than a Knitty March Break?

For this retreat day, we will do mosaic knitting in the round. Several years ago, we did the Frieze shawl as a knit-along. We thought it was time to revisit the gorgeous Florentine Frieze stitch, but this time in a hat version! (If you'd prefer, you can do the cowl, though.)

You will learn how to:

• read a chart
• carry a second colour over two rounds
• follow a fairly complex stitch pattern

Participants should be comfortable knitting, purling, and working in the round. No colourwork experience is necessary.

For this workshop, you will need:

• two skeins of worsted weight yarn in contrasting colours (one solid or semisolid; the other can be colour-changing or variegated but solid is fine, too!)
• 4 mm and 5 mm 16" needles 

The hat brim must be knit in advance. (We will send out instructions about a week before.)

Following the workshop, we will enjoy a high tea lunch provided by The Lass & Ladle. You then will have leisurely knitting time in our knitting circle to continue your progress on your hat (or work on another knitting project if you find this one too complex to do in the circle).
