This Is Us...

Yarn It! was built on community and has stood by that since its inception in 2017. We regularly donate to, collect funds for, and/or sponsor events for community organizations such as the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank, the Northumberland Humane Society, the United Way, the Cobourg Lawn Bowling Club, and Cornerstone. All year round we collect handmade items for donation through care4ucreations.ca, which are then distributed where they are needed most throughout Northumberland County. Once a month, we host a Charity Knit Night, and every October we do a drive for hats, mitts, scarves, slippers, and more items that are needed.

We are proud to have won several Readers' Choice and Northumberland Spirit Awards, including the 2022 and 2023 Readers' Choice Platinum Awards for Best Overall Customer Service countywide, which we strive to re-earn every single day! The new Northumberland Spirit Awards have been a terrific honour to win every year since their inception for Best Crafts/Hobby Store.

We carry a large selection of yarns from synthetics to the most luxurious fibre blends--because we believe that no matter your budget, you should be able to enjoy the wonderful crafts of knitting and crocheting. We offer classes from beginner level and up, host many special events throughout the year, and have an in-store knitting circle for customers to enjoy.
