Beginner Mosaic Knitting (In-Store) / TBD

Are you a newer knitter who wants to take your first stab at colourwork?! The Ridgeway Shawl uses the mosaic knitting technique and is perfect for beginner knitters!

You will learn:

• how to do the garter tab cast-on
• how to increase (backwards loop)
• how to change colours and carry one up the side
• how to slip stitches and keep an even tension

You can make a heavy weight shawl with 650-750 yards of DK weight yarn or a lightweight shawl with 750 yards of fingering yarn. You can use scraps for the contrasting colour(s) or a colour-changing yarn or a second solid. The choice is yours! Needle size will depend on your gauge, but most knitters would use 3.5-4 mm for fingering and 4-4.5 mm for DK.

The pattern will be included, and the class is taught by the designer herself!
