Ready to expand your knitting repertoire into socks? Several sock knitters in recent years have found the fairly new 9" circular needles their favourite tool for sock knitting, so we've added this method to our class offerings! The big advantage of these needles is the speed you can get without using multiple needles.

Over three sessions, we will teach advanced-beginner knitters how to choose a stitch count for your foot size; cast-on appropriately for a sock; turn the heel; pick up gusset stitches; and close the toe with the Kitchener stitch.

Materials needed: 

  • 100 g sock yarn
  • 2.25 mm or 2.5 mm 9" or 10" circular needle
  • double-pointed needles in the same size as circular needle (for heel turn and toe)
