Take your mosaic crochet skills to the next level by making a practical summer bag. Crocheted from the bottom up, this tote uses the overlay mosaic crochet technique for the body and ends with crocheted handles in the last few rounds. Bag measures 15 inches wide and 13 inches tall.

 

In this workshop, you will

  • Review the basics of overlay mosaic crochet stitches and construction
  • Learn how to work in joined rounds and change colours

Participants should be comfortable creating SC and Mosaic Double Crochet stitches.

 

Materials Needed:
• DK Weight (#3) Cotton Yarn – This bag is worked in doubled strands of DK weight yarn (2 strands held together). Any cotton DK weight yarn can be used for this project.  Yardage – Main colours - 250 yds each (shown beige and white in sample) and accent colours - 150 yds each.
• Crochet hook – 5.5mm size crochet hook
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
