Andrea Mowry's "Shift" designs took the knitting world by storm a few years back, just as her "Fade" designs did several years ago. If you want to jump on the mosaic-knitting bandwagon, this is a great project to start with--and it makes such a great gift! Participants must be comfortable making knit and purl stitches. Everything else you will learn!
Knitted using two or three colour-changing yarns, this project is fun and engaging. In this advanced-beginner-level workshop you will learn:
- the mosaic knitting technique
- four types of increases
- knitting an applied i-cord edge
- decreasing in pattern
- pattern-reading skills
- mattress stitchÂ
Materials needed:
- two to three colours of sport or fingering weight yarn (designer used colour-changing yarns)
- 3.75 mm 24" circular needles
- pattern holder, highlighter tape, KnitCompanion app, or other method for reading your pattern
The pattern is included in the price of the workshop.
