How to Knit a Sock (In-Store) / TBD

Thursdays, November 2 & 9, 5 to 7 p.m.

In this four-hour workshop over two days, you will make a baby sock the traditional way--on four needles--from the cuff all the way to the toe, learning skills transferable to adult socks. Participants in the course should be comfortable knitting in the round, knitting, and purling. You will learn:

  • the basics of sock construction
  • how to use double-pointed needles (if you haven't used them before)
  • how to turn a heel 
  • decreases (SSK & k2tog)
  • how to graft the toe (Kitchener stitch)

    The pattern is included in the price of this class. You will need a small amount of worsted weight yarn, 4 mm double-point needles, and a darning needle.
