Introduction to Blackwork (In-Store) / Feb. 20

Thursday, February 20, 2 to 4 p.m.

Learn the basics of blackwork--a counted thread technique, similar to backstitching in cross-stitch. Traditionally worked in black thread on white even-weave fabric, today’s blackwork uses multiple or single colours.

In this intro workshop, you will learn

• Basic blackwork stitching techniques
• Project ideas and tips
• Where to find patterns for free and to purchase
• Simple ways to finish your projects

We will provide the fabric, embroidery floss and pattern. You just need to bring a tapestry needle (#24 or #26) and embroidery scissors!
