This is a basic introduction to punch needle. It will give you the opportunity to try your hand at the art form before investing in frames and punch needles.
Punching can be done with yarn and/or strips of wool fabric. In this session, you will be punching with a #10 Oxford punch needle using 3-ply yarn on a monk’s cloth backing. All materials are included in the class fee.
At the end of the class, the small motif that you punch can be mounted on a felt backing and used as a coaster.
About the Instructor:
Jayne Nevins is a fibre artist and became certified as an Oxford Punch Needle instructor in 2022 and is also an accredited traditional rug hooking teacher in both Ontario (1997) and the United States (2007). She currently resides in Ajax, Ontario.
