Lunenburg Pullover / Nov. 18 & ...

Regular price $25.00 Sale

Tuesday, November 18, 1 to 3 p.m. & other dates to be confirmed

Since I've had several requests for a colourwork sweater workshop, I've decided to turn my next knit into a series of lessons. The structure is informal, as I will help you with whatever you need help with, although for classes beyond the first one, we may need to work at a similar pace. Dates are to be determined, and we will confer regularly.

Participants should have experience knitting colourwork (using any method) and should complete their gauge swatches (solid + colourwork ones) before the first class so as to know the needle sizes needed.

If you'd like to knit this sweater along with me, these are the things I anticipate teaching:

  • starting with a provisional cast-on (instead of following the pattern instructions)
  • M1 increases
  • reading a colourwork chart with increases
  • making adjustments to yoke based on row gauge
  • short rows (w&t and/or adjusting for German short rows)
  • adding underarm gussets
  • neckline planning

Before the first class, you will need sport weight or fingering weight yarn in five colours, the needles needed to get gauge (in varying lengths), and the pattern. If you'd like to do a provisional cast-on, too, you will need a crochet hook and waste yarn OR a silicone stitch holder cord. If you prefer to knit from the collar down, you must knit the ribbing prior to the first class.

(If you purchased your yarn from us for this sweater, you will get a 25% discount on each class. Please talk to Cathy to get your discount code.)
