Mosaic Crochet Blanket

Saturdays, October 17 & November ?, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Expand your mosaic crochet skills while making a gorgeous heirloom blanket! Choose your pattern, choose your yarn, and join this workshop!

In the first class, you will:

• review basic blanket construction for overlay mosaic crochet
• learn how to understand both the charted and written pattern instructions
• create a foundation row with a single crochet in the back bumps of chains
• learn how to start and end each row of alternate colours so that a back and front border can be attached to finish the blanket
• make mosaic crochet stitches for the pattern you choose

In the second class, you will learn how to:

• pick up stitches for and make the front and back borders
• tie off and trim the yarn ends for each row
• join the front and back borders while sandwiching the yarn ends between

You can choose one of several patterns, including the pictured one by Ana Morais Soares (Maria Mosaic Afghan). The cost of the pattern is separate. Your required supplies willl be determined by the pattern you choose.
