Need a day to yourself to break up the long winter? Yeah, you're not alone. So why not spend a day among friends learning to knit the Tettegouche Hat by Virginia Sattler-Reimer?
In the morning, you'll learn how to knit Fair Isle using the two-handed technique to knit a gauge swatch.
We will then break for a high-tea lunch provided by The Lass & Ladle. With full, content bellies, you will then enjoy an afternoon in our knitting circle casting on the actual hat.
We also will have on offer throughout the afternoon 15- or 20-minute hand massages by amazing local reflexologist Lisa Matthews (for an additional $30). To book time with Lisa, click here, and we’ll arrange your appointment. (Trust me--you want this!)
Supplies needed for the workshop:
- two colours of fingering-weight yarn
- 3 mm 16" circulars (depending on your gauge, you may need a different size)
To complete the hat, you will need five colours of fingering weight yarn (I used Amble--two minis for the main colour and one of each of the contrasting colours); whatever size needles you get gauge on, plus a size 0.25 mm smaller, both in 16" lengths; and double-pointed needles in the larger size. (I also used 24" circulars in the larger size.)
And to complete the day, you'll leave with a swag bag of goodies to remember it by!
Refunds will not be issued for cancellations after February 7.
