Our First Anniversary

Yesterday we celebrated our first year, although we're still a few days out from the actual opening date last year (which was November 8). Since practically day one, I have felt elated and overwhelmed by the response the store has received. Yesterday, though, that feeling was increased tenfold.

I can't thank you all enough for being on this journey with me. Having a yarn store was a longtime dream, as many of you know. What I dreamt of, though, in my own little mind doesn't come close to the reality created by having others in on the dream. Those of you who shop here, teach here, work here, knit here, help others here are the best—truly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thanks, too, to Edith and Dianne of All Dyed Up! in Napanee, who brought their beautifully dyed merino yarn blends to the store to help make the day special. They worked hard to get everything dyed and dried in time—and what an impressive display it was! I can't wait to see what everyone makes with these beautiful yarns! (We kept a bunch to have in stock for those who didn't make it to the trunk show (or for those who did but want more)!)

And thanks to Kathy and Peter, who invited the sisters from Napanee and us to dinner afterward. It was nice not having to think about dinner after a bit of a hectic day. What a treat!

It was a very special day, this first anniversary. I look forward to many, many more, shared with very special people. <3

  • Congratulations on your one year anniversary! Your store is beautiful! I have a question….when we were there in October, there was a lovely red sweater that one of your clients crocheted, using her own pattern. Do you think she would sell me the pattern? It was on a mannikin in the front of the store, under the gorgeous butterfly shawl. Thank you!

  • You are so nice, Darlene—thank you for your kind words, and for contributing what you have to the store, too! See you soon!

  • Congrats Cathy on your first year. Sorry I missed yesterday as I was working. Need to work to feed my yarnaholic addiction.
I have to say that I was so happy when I learned from the girls a Curves that you were opening and the Northumberland area could not have had a better person to open a yarn store. Your friendliness, your knowledge and your patience is astounding and keeps us all coming back.
