Cast-on and Bind-off Methods Knitters Should Know (In-Store) / April 30

Tuesday, April 30, 7 to 9 p.m.

If you’ve been knitting for a while, you may think you know all there is to know about casting on and binding off, but if you use only one or two methods consistently, you may be missing out on ones that could create better, more "professional-looking" edges. In this advanced-beginner/intermediate level class, you’ll practise several methods of casting on and binding off and learn when to use each. Because we can't cover all the methods, however, you will also come away with a list of other methods worth investigation for certain circumstances.

You will learn:

  • Italian tubular cast-on & tubular bind-off
  • German twisted cast-on & simple stretchy bind-off
  • Chinese waitress cast-on & Icelandic bind-off

Participants will need to bring the following:

  • Yarn (any weight)

  • 4 sets of needles close in size to what's recommended on the ball band. Two sets should be the exact size (length doesn't matter).

  • Crochet hook in similar size to needles

  • Darning needle
